In alot of 90's cartoons, the hero is the punk character. Not punk as in the musical anarchist movement. Punk as in He (never a she) talks smack and for some reason never gets the crap smacked out of him like would happen in real life. I mean I could see if it was Wolverine or someone who could brawl, but it's always some little kid that's "spunky", "Sassy" and in your face. Like Poochie the Rocking Dog. Speaking of animated kids in American Cartoons that don't suck. New Avatar! New Avatar! Female Avatar. Bring on an older and just as snarky Toph! Avatar was a show that did snarky and funny teenagers and kids and did it right. Introduce a kid to a show we used to watch as kids and I promise they'll comment on how lame the teenagers are.
